Now, you may be asking yourself: “What the heck is House-Call Grooming?…”
Well, Here is What You Can Expect!
House-call, or more well known as in-home grooming, is a pet grooming service that is provided in the comfort of your own home. Who wants to pack up and lug their pet out to a physical shop? Not us! That is why we bring the salon to you! We are different than drive-up groomers in the aspect that we do not have a van with equipment to take your pet outside to. We bring our table and equipment into your home, and pamper your pet within eye-shot. This way of grooming works well for pets who are not easily trusting of the groomers, get anxious during car rides, or even if you, as the paw-rent, just want the luxury of staying home while it happens! Whatever your reason, we are the solution. Our wide variety of services will be sure to leave your furry companion feeling well loved and paw-fectly pampered to your liking.
So, What Does an In-Home Visit Look Like?
And What May Be Required to Host One?
(In a rough idea, this is what you can expect when our stylist visits you and the requirements for hosting a Home-Groom appointment. Set up and appointment length will naturally be a bit longer if the stylist has not visited your home before).
Your stylist will arrive 15-20 minutes before appointment start time. This time is allotted for locating and setting up their work area in your home. If your stylist has serviced you before, they may not get there as early if they have a routine and know where their usual work space is. Unless otherwise stated by your stylist(s), or due to potential upcharges, payment is required via Venmo or cash only before the stylist begins to unpack their equipment. Once they get their area set up, they will need to: a) Locate the bathroom or kitchen (if that is more convenient for the client), to ensure it has a working shower or faucet, with the ability to connect to a hose handle (our stylist uses a specialized, shampoo-diluting nozzle for quick soaking). b) An extension cord leading to the bathroom from an outside outlet that supports high voltage for the High Velocity K-9 Dryer (provided that you give your stylist notice beforehand, they may be able to bring an extension cord of their own). c) Due to the nature and size of a professional grooming table, our stylist will need at least a 4ft x 5ft area of open space to work freely and comfortably. This is mainly to limit time that your pet is on the table. For a smaller pet, not as much space may be needed because of the stylist’s ability to freely move small pets around on the table. However, the table is still 50” long and that is the bare minimum requirement, even if the appointment takes place in a condo or apartment community. d) Once your stylist is situated, the grooming process could take anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the pet’s size, coat, and service type. If your stylist feels that it is best for your pet to not be able to see you, as it may excite them, please respect the stylist’s professional opinion and allow them to work freely to best suit your pet’s needs. Once the grooming process is completed and you, as the client, are happy with the service, the stylist will efficiently pack up their equipment and then clean the spaces that they used, leaving your home as clean as it was when they arrived and your pet even cleaner!
